Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be creating a gallery that will offer all of the works in the show for sale. Please be patient with us as we must add over 130 pieces to the site.
A note to the artists: all of the pieces will not show up at the same time, so if you see the gallery, but don’t see YOUR piece, please don’t email asking why. We can only add one at a time, and as they are added, they automatically show up in the gallery. Answering questions about the gallery will slow down the process of creating it.

We did it! 1st ever Bangor Art Society Open Juried Show held virtually!
The art In-take was Monday June 1st, 202. Registration was spaced smoothly, (6ft apart), and masks were on! We had a couple curbside pick-ups too. It was fun! Thank you all for your cooperation and patience! Only a couple label mix-ups, that are fixed already! We had 75 artists and 138 pieces of beautiful art that were all accepted! This year Carl asked if he could select an Honorable Mention in every Category. Therefore, $25 will be awarded this year for Honorable Mention! Congratulations to all!
The awards ceremony was held live on our Bangor Art Society Facebook Page Friday, June 5th at 6:00 PM.

11 Central Eatery Coastal Exhibit: Owner Ann Marie Orr will select from BangorArtSociety Members’ large paintings with a Maine Coastal theme. During the week of February 10-15th, members may bring their work to 11 Central for her to choose. More details will be at January meeting.
EXHIBITS/ SHOWS: ANNUAL MEMBERS’ SHOW, Art intake:Sunday February 2nd, 1:00 PM -3:00 PM at ROCK & ART Shop Central Street Bangor. One piece per artist, free for all dues paying members. We are Proud to announce the Judges will be Jean Deighan of Deighan Wealth Advisors and former president Kristborg Whitney!
RECEPTION & AWARDS: Saturday February 8th, 5-7 PM, Our actual 145th Anniversary date. All artists are asked to bring a chocolate concoction for our quests. Show ends Sunday February 16th. Details of show: 1 piece per member, size limit for flat art 11″ X 14″ not including frame, artwork must have wire hangers, artwork must be framed if not using a gallery wrapped canvas or cradled panel. All art must not have been entered in a BAS show previously. Certificates will be awarded to Best of Show, 1st, 2nd 3rd award will be given in the following categories, Oils/Acrylics, Watercolors, Drawing, Photography, and Other: scultpure/3D/mixed media/fiber/etchings/lithographs/silkscreen. The Rock & Art does take a percentage of sales.
Our Auction last Thursday was a fun event. We had works from both members and non members, in many different sizes, media and styles. This is an annual event held in conjunction with ArTober, a month long event in Bangor celebrating the arts. Mark Bradstreet of Searsport, honored us as Auctioneer.

Come on down to the Penobscot Valley Country Club tomorrow, October 24th! Artist bring your work(s) between 3:30 and 5 for intake! Viewing starts at 5 and the auction starts at 6.
Buyers come on down at 5 for previews and refreshments. Your bidding paddle can be had for a donation of just $5 which helps us offset the cost of the amazing spread of food offered. This is a great opportunity to obtain locally created, beautiful artwork at a great price.
There will be both a live auction and a silent auction.
